there are plenty of tutorials on this site and more short ones on our sister site [linux-tips.us]
you will also learn a lot by reading of other people's problem and the advice offered,
I won't kid you, if you have come from windows, you will have a learning curve to go through, how steep is up to you, so take your time, and just play around with your Linux installation and the applications you have installed.
