Try to install deepin on a USB drive instead of a harddrive.

Hello @deusbellum, and welcome. Seems like you're on the right track... you've ruled out a distro problem, and you've ruled out the hard drive by trying several others. But an "ata" error sure seems like it's hard drive related. Googling around gave some hints to check or replace your SATA cable as another possible fix, and you might also try to use a different SATA port on the motherboard. Either or both of these might make a difference. Also check your BIOS settings.... such as, be sure that SATA Controller is set to AHCI and not to RAID or IDE.

Finally, I'll also question how you are installing.... from a DVD??? A DVD drive would also likely be on a SATA port and could be the culprit. If you have been using a DVD in all your testing, try a USB flash drive instead.

Good luck!
