LMDE6 Printer issue

I got my printer connected onto my desktop, now that I just got LMDE6 working on my new laptop im trying to connect my printer, cant recall how i got it to work last time... any ideas fellas?

wait nevermind i found out what to do: go to connect, then go to add new printer, then mine showed up..

ok update: this is still an issue and i dont know whats going on. I connected to the server, and to the printer, but it simply wont print and i dont know why. yes i ran the troubleshooter but there was "no obvious solution"

when i hit print, it says it starts printing but never actually does.

When it opens the 'print page'....is there a drop down menu alongside the name of the printer being used ?
If there is a choice there, click another one

Is cups installed ?

Have you looked in softwate manager?

I get a CUPS Server error: 'server-error-internal-error' when I try to connect a network printer

I'm trying to add a new network printer on ubuntu 16.04 LTS. After setting it's IP address it recognises that a printer is available (192.168.1.100/9100), but when I click Forward I get a CUPS server

not sure- i thought since the printer app' is installed, it would just have installed cups on its own. it installs drivers for the printer on its own... so i presumed cups would already be installed.
