Hi there.

I have a domain whose MX record points to an A record,
e.g. MX preference = 10, mail exchanger = mail.acme.com
mail.acme.com is an A record that points to the mail server's public IP.
Now, for testing, I want the emails to be temporarily routed to another IP.
I have edited /etc/hosts and added the entry below:
<new public IP> mail.acme.com
When I ping mail.acme.com, it pings the new public IP
But when I do an nslookup -type=A mail.acme.com, I get the old public IP.

Am I missing something or is that normal?
