You Should be able to get them running by using Fcitx or Fcitx5. I couldn't get fcitx running personally but Fcitx5 worked for me using mozc for Japanese in wayland WMs like sway and hyprland. If you're also running wayland install fcitx5. the install method is documented in its wiki
