I have downloaded chrome, sage math and lrzip decompression file. Since I am new to Linux,[ just set up an old 32 bit machine I bought from work that was headed to scrap bin] with Debian(wheezy) can someone help me with a procedure to decompress these files and put them in the root and user accessory folders?
Thanks
Dean

Hi and welcome.

To extract file foo.tar.lrz use
Code:
lrzuntar foo
and then put where needed.

And also I advise to use Chromium because it is completely open-source.

You may want to create .desktop files, add desired categories and start these apps from menus.
