Good day dear friends, :)

currently try to dive into Excel [or lets say Calc -which i love much more]

What do you think about creating an Excel tutorial around a live event like this? I want to do this for myself and my colleagues.
I believe it would be much more motivating than working with dry, generic examples from economics or business.

The idea: take real data from the World Cup – schedules, standings, goals, points, group tables, etc. That seems perfect for explaining Excel functions in a truly engaging and clear way, from basic formulas (SUM, AVERAGE, IF) all the way to more advanced stuff (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, COUNTIFS, pivot tables).

Do you have any tips on how to make such an introduction as useful and exciting as possible for learners? I think the key is to tailor the examples to the learner's prior knowledge and goals – but I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Thanks and have a great day

ps. would / could this be a starting-point:

World Cup 2026 Google sheet, I made google spreadsheet to calculate and Predict Group and Knockout Stage with Best 8 3rd Teams (Calculates 495 Combinations)

With the Wold Cup approaching, I put together a simple Google sheet to help track the tournament brackets, scores, and match results. This spreadsheet will calculate the best 8 3rd positioned teams that will advance to the knockout stage. Feel free to make a copy of your own and explore what formulas I used to make this World Cup Group and Bracket stage work.

Features

Easy Tracking match scores
Group and Knockout stages
Flags and Characters representing participating teams.

look forward to hear from you

:)
