I'm not too familiar with linux content, but i want to find the best video editing, audio-creating (such as to make dubstep) programs currently available. I've also just installed AV Linux 6.0.1 onto a spare 80GB HDD and I'd like to find out if all the content on there is supposed to work. One program was corrupt, many were fairly complex and used unfamiliar terms, and only a few programs (like musescore and handbrake, which I already know how to use) were successful in their application. I tried plugging in a flash drive in fat32 or maybe exfat, and the system wouldn't display the contents (hdd formatted to ext4, should I reinstall it as another ext (2,3, or is 4 fine?) for compatability) and wouldn't pop open a window asking me if I even wanted to see the files. Does linux (AV 6.0.1) do that, like the windows I'm too familiar with? Where are all the desktop programs or any file icons?
I don't fully understand the OS I'm using, so I'd like to see if someone knows the best tools for beginners, or even just points me to another comprehensive guide or video explaining how everything works.
Thanks, Chris W
