Metal detector would be good but magnet can work too, if you're sure you've lost somewhere at home.

Yeah, you're not supposed to lose that.

I have a wedding ring. I do not wear it, unless it's a special occasion. Instead, I wear a silicone ring as I'm often working with heavy stuff and don't need a ring adding to the potential damage, or degloving my finger. At least that's the excuse I have.

If I lose my silicone ring, I've got three more just like it.

Good luck with finding it. As it is silver, I don't think a magnet is going to work. It's specifically a 'diamagnetic' material.

when was the last time you physically saw it...actually laid eyes on it ?....was it a loose fit on your finger?.... some soaps/body washes have the ability to make rings ... slide.....where do you wash your hands?
"'going to collect the car"....how can you be so sure?.....walk the route backwards...(from car place back to home....was the ring a loose fit....bushes capable of swiping it off.....?

You did something at home ....out of the ordinary.....took it off for that reason.... in the dirt ?.... under the bonnet of the car ?...under where the car parks at your home or at the mechanics place..?

Just trying to nudge the brain cells here.

Sorry to hear that. My other half lost his for a half of the day, then found it in a glove he had on his hand earlier that morning.
