Do you use MX Linux? If I remember correctly, I think I saw you a lot on the Linux Mint forums, I could be wrong.
I used MX Linux "Fluxbox Edition" for awhile. They really did a good job on making it a fine Fluxbox setup out of the box!
I use a variety of Distros but usually come back to Mint eventually. I have been part of the Mint forum since it's beginning also.
Right now using MX- KDE. I would stick with Mint but a number of releases ago they dropped support for KDE. One of my favorite DE's. Haven't use fluxbox in a while glad to hear it's still doing good.
I guess I'm just a distro hopper.

i had "libretto", which is based on debian "bookworm" with fluxbox. at one point i tried kde plasma edition. but the problems with audio it had were totally unacceptable.
really, that's why i gave up on it. it also has a problem recognizing right-hand-side shift keys in keyboard configuration. for a budget laptop that doesn't have a separate numeric keypad. i tried it for a while with "systemd". but the problems remained. wished it did something about audio glitching. even in linux native-executable programs that create music. such as sunvox. i would have accepted it only if the glitching. happened while using a windows program with wine. but not a linux native-executable that also uses alsa, pipewire and whatever.
it was definitely an improvement over "wildflower", the one based on debian "bullseye". couldn't directly change the mouse cursor size. booted each time slower and inventing errors at it. i never tried it with "systemd". probably it would have fixed many problems.
i haven't tried the version 25 and i think i never will. i hate debian "trixie". i have two iso's that are worthless to me now. i even tried linux mint "xia" last year. refused to boot on my other computer. because maybe it expects a certain way to install it. yeah while i had it totally replacing windows on the internal disk it responded. not thereafter. but that's just me.
yeah the fluxbox themes in mx linux are nice. but i wanted the "default" but with white panel. how difficult it was to work with "tint2" for it! also create further "png" icon files so they are white. or have white background instead of black. again that's just me and i wanted it that way. i should have gone with fluxbox panel. like in my test of antix "arditi del popolo".
i might go with spirallinux. but they need to release soon. i will go with lxqt desktop. have had porteux but it feels incomplete. it keeps giving me problems starting it and whatever. i need to have at least one thing. which sports "glibc" 2.41 or later. at least to be able to go online beyond this year.

Maker, "Sam" is responsible for both Gecko and Spiral, but says there is little need for updates to Spiral.
I don't agree, as you have to download an iso from 2023 and then run all the updates and see if it survives that transition.

Nice one. My friend uses MX on all his computers. He is dislectic and appreciates all GUI tools MX ships with. MX uses Debian repos directly as a base, so it's very stable (and conservative in places). No systemd by default too. Bare Debian requires user to spend much longer in a terminal, so MX may be useful for many people.

that is somewhat discouraging.
but i desired to point out. that i did use mx linux for a while. then stopped because i had some problems with audio. that i did not have in other distributions.
on "libretto" i have even removed pipewire. installed pulseaudio. which was supposed to give worse performance. but the glitching with audio didn't go away completely. strangely enough, with a windows program i was using. pulseaudio gave a bit better performance than pipewire. everything else based on debian "bullseye" worked fine with pulseaudio. everything else based on "bookworm" worked without defects with pipewire. although i have to fight to set the buffersize and other minor annoyances.
i don't want to have to download the latest iso. then discover nothing has been fixed for me. yes i know, i need to use a better, faster computer. but it's an even bigger reason. why i have to remain waiting for the bus.
