Which distro to install for my PC?

I wouldn't worry too much about graphics card drivers from a security point of view. It's a wide and varied target. I would use the open source drivers, however.

Many of the ancient NVidia drivers for Linux have massive amounts of security issues. I recommend open source drivers whenever possible. I share Linus' feelings with NVidia in a well known "birdie" video.
