Recommend me an Ethernet card for MX Linux

Hi everyone.
I have a Dell Optiplex 7010 Tower PC and the network card does not work.
I have tried assigning fixed IP and DNS entries, and still nothing.
It shows up, connects very slowly when clicked on in network, but no internet.

I do not know if it works or how to fix it, I have no other computers with cards
I can try to troubleshoot.
I am using a USB to Ethernet adapter, it works but only if set up a fixed IP
and put a DNS server in the IPv4 settings.
This same USB to Ethernet adapter works in all my linux devices without
having to alter any settings, even my phone can work through it.

The Ethernet card in this PC seems to be an Intel based / 82579LM revision 4 card.

Either way does anyone know of an Ethernet card that works with MX Linux in this machine.
Dual port would be nice, even 2.5Gig at the right price.

did little bit of poking around, looks like Realtek RTL8125B chipset based cards are what you're looking for

This doesn't sound like an ethernet problem, it sounds like a router/DNS problem.

Does MX use networkManager?

Hi, I have no idea what is under the hood of MX linux.
I added the non free repos, and updated, I saw some intel drivers listed
amongst broadcom atheros and others.
I rebooted and removed the USB to Ethernet adapter and plugged a
network cable in and now it works, I selected DHCP address only in
the IPv4 settings, that is all I did.
So far three shutdowns and it still works upon boot up, hopefully
all will continue to do so.

My router does DNS, no other device on the network with DNS server enabled.

Yes, I did see that RTL8125B chipset will work.
I found a video testing it against a qnap Intel 225 based card.
The Intel chip had double the upload speed of the RTL, something
to keep in mind if local file transfers play a part in your use case.
I found the video because in the past I was told that 225 Intel chip
gave problems, disconnects mainly, I went for a different chip for
my home made router.
Wonder if the 225 issues are fixed now or just forgot about.
