No hdmi sound on tv

I used to use Linux mint cinnamon but I have switched to the Mate edition for various reasons that I don't need to go into here. On cinnamon if I connected the laptop to my tv via hdmi I simply had to right click the speaker icon & change from speaker to hdmi, in Mate I have found I have to install pavucontrol open it up & make the change under the config tab, it's not the end of the world I know but is there really not a more simple way of achieving it like cinnamon had.
Anyone know?

Oh, still quite new this topic here, but already here.
A neighbours Mint Mate 21.2 uses hdmi.
The sound to hdmi is to switch in the sound control.
But at restart it is setted back. And has to be repeated again to set to hdmi.
Does anybody know a solution to avoid the setting back ?

install pavucontrol open it up & make the change under the config tab

I've changed from using hdmi, I'm now casting to TV & that automatically gives me sound & picture but strangely only from certain browsers, if I cast from brave I get sound through laptop but not tv but other (chrome based) browsers are fine

Sorry, the hdmi the neighbour uses is FOR TV.

Oh, some browsers do this trouble, others do not, wouh.
(Which browser(s) from in Mint do work, please ?
A challenge to me from Linux is for example different browsers there - I do not in Mint, but from Knoppix -, for example browser´s names. Thanks.)
