the "it's foss" article is flawed in a few ways.
less importantly, wave terminal is a work-in-progress in my opinion. just try to press "ctrl+shift+k" on the terminal block. if you're very used to konsole in kde. and you expect to clear and reset the viewport. and if you had entered a good deal of stuff since you started the program. that is, adding to .bash_history. you will be greatly disappointed.
on the plus side. wave terminal could probably be used on debian "bullseye". but better on a computer with independent gpu. and unlimited fast internet connection. to totally embrace the gag which is like "chatgpt". with its fancy look. i thought it required debian "trixie". so i installed it on q4os "andromeda". because "qapt" isn't available any longer. and "qsi" doesn't work with ordinary "dot-deb" packages. i had to install at the command line. it doesn't request dependencies. but it might be different on a different version of debian. or of ubuntu.
i also tried logseq. but aside from markdown text. i'm still trying to figure out its "raison d'être."
i wanted to try out element messenger too. but on debian "bookworm" on my side. "apt" refused to accept the gpg keys. from the special repository.
otherwise i think the author of that article. should have just avoided the web browser category. instead of vivaldi. he proposes another browser with proprietary components. one that i'm ashamed to confess i used almost exclusively a couple of years ago. but which is run by an awful person. without google both wouldn't even exist. in fact neither would mozilla and its feral relations at this point.
also the gnome software instead of ubuntu store. i thought was arbitrary.
whoever wrote that article. obviously was desperate for "ratings" or some other attention. by people who make such a big deal about using open-source software. that's why i don't make a habit. out of reading that site or others like it. which are a drag loading the pages on my web browser.
