Help Understanding an Error Message

I just installed Lunix 19.3 on a Dell laptop. Everything went well and I was able to configure items and add software. It seemed to run well until I needed to reboot the computer. Then I got the following error message which I do not understand:
error: invalid arch-independent ELF magic
Entering rescue mode...
grub rescue> _

Can someone tell me what to do next?
