Wow! Thanks, Wizard. I'm at work right now, so I'll definitely watch this later at home. By the way, I already subscribe to this guy on YouTube, I wonder how I missed this video? Thanks again! :)

driver manager not present in LMDE

So, this weekend I was bored and staring at an old, dusty computer I had built years ago that really needed a cleaning. I usually keep the side panels off of my towers at home because the nerd in me wants to be able to walk around and see the hardware inside, and think "I built that." This...

    which one

I understand why picking your first Linux distro can be intimidating for some people. There are literally hundreds of them. Just remember that most of the distributions out there today fork off of about three main ones: Debian, RHEL, and Arch. In my humble opinion RHEL is for enterprise...

onboard keyboard not recognized until after login

Hello, all: I have an HP 15-dy2795wm laptop that I recently bought used from a local pawn shop. I've installed Debian 12 on it, and everything seems to work fine so far, with one exception... The keyboard is not recognized by the system at startup. The OS loads just fine, and my username...

Where is the "upload system information" feature in Debian 11?

Brickwizard and Terminal Velocity, Thank you both, very much. I had never heard of inxi. Apparently it comes installed on Debian systems, because it was on all three of my machines. I ran it last night as inxi -FM and found it gave me everything that the GUI did. Very nice to know!

Yeah, there's nothing up there. Darn, I was looking forward to seeing where I stand amongst the average member here.

It's time for a poll. How long have you used Linux?

A friend told me about Linux back in 2008. I decided to try it. I started with Ubuntu (Hardy Heron, if I'm remembering correctly). I really liked it and played with it for years, getting excited for each new release. For some reason (probably boredom) I installed Mint onto a machine at work...

Where is the "upload system information" feature in Debian 11?

In Debian 12 if you navigate to System Settings (in the Cinnamon GUI) there is an option at the bottom that allows you to "upload system information." It then opens up a wealth of information about your computer's hardware and software in a browser. That feature is not present in Debian 11. Does...
