I should mention that i just did clean install on same machine. This time i had to replace quite splash with nouveau.noaccel=1 in CRUD when booting from USB stick. And after installation it just worked. I have downloaded proprietary drivers anyway just to be sure.

I can't make the detachable keyboard to work once i boot into latest Mint life USB (to test compatibility for later making it dual boot with Win 11). Keyboard works perfectly fine in Windows, Bios, boot menu, all the way to the GRUB but once i get to the desktop environment, it doesn't react to...

It might be worth mentioning that i have Lenovo Yoga duet 7 and Linux also ignores its keyboard but under preinstalled Windows keyboard works just fine. Point is, it might not be faulty hw. (I have not found solution just yet.)

I'm very happy with plank on FXCE. I can only recommend it. Simplest way to to achieve icon + open windows merged. It's also lightweight.

What do you mean? I can drag and drop let's say Firefox or right click -> add to desktop on my Mint FXCE and that's "vanila" installed distro with no customization. There's no real difference between Windows and Linux Mint in terms of creating icon on desktop aside from not calling it...

Windows 11 comes with CLI tool called "Terminal" . customizable (colors, font etc), colors of command line depends on CLI but you can customize each CLI colors via terminal settings tabs in same window (like in web browsers). can be configured to run probably any CLI tool supported on Windows...

Win 11 (i use for work) is actually little different than Win 10 and it reminds me distro with dock / plank in middle. They even introduced the terminal. So I think going with something like Linux Mint won't be much bigger change for misses than using the Win 11. So why not to take this...

Yeah i also trusted specs i got. BTW system terminal printed multiple packages that contain ...amd64... in their name during first boot and it did so during aptitude upgrade as well. It seems to be used on intel devices as well but It bugs me little nevertheless. PC runs smooth.
