Hello to all,

I'm beguinner in Linux, and I have already installed Apache with Openldap authentication for the users that try to access a web site that I have running under apache.

I was thinking in install openssl so the information (user/password) exchanged between openldap and apache can goes encrypted with ssl mediation.
I have apache and openldap already installed on different servers.

I have doubts about after I generate a certificate with openssl, where do I have to put this certificate generated? I have to put it in Apache and in Openldap config files?

If someone knows a guide about this it woud be helpfull.
Help will be apreciated,
Best Regards,
CPMarco

To do this right you are going to have to put the SSL certificate in place on both the LDAP side and the Apache side. Then you are going to have to configure LDAP and Apache to use the cert. I would then lock out non-ssl encrypted options.
