Can one delete the folder windows and other system files of Windows 7 within Ubuntu?
 


Yes....

... if you have administrative access.
or if you have sudo access.
Use it with caution though.
 
Yes, the ntfs-3g package doesn't really respect NTFS permissions, so you can do just about anything on an NTFS filesystem from within Linux. Be careful though.
 
It worked just using the Ubuntu disk on "try it out". I had a bad boot on one of my hd so I deleted the Windows file and now it is a data disk.
 
Most modern computers have a recovery partition, which will allow you to fix most problems with Windows.

On second thought, getting rid of Windows was probably the best choice.
 
Actually I used the recovery disk with no success, so I used Ubuntu to delete the Windows folder still keeping my files. I would like to use Ubuntu regularly except there are certain files which I can't fine a workable substitute. One such file is Quicken which is one of the primary reasons I am using windows.
