Hey, I have a 1tb external hard drive that I was think of using to install Linux on. If I were to install Linux on it, would I loose all the data I have on it? I know I can boot from it because it shows up as a hard drive disk. Would I notice any performance increase between my Windows 7 64-bit and Linux distro. I have a dual-core AMD with Mobility Radeon HD 4200 integrated graphics and my performance in games is not always exceptional. Which distro, if any, would boost my performance? How hard is it to choose between which hard drive to boot from? Would Linux be easily uninstalled if I did not like it? I am no Linux expert, and that is why I am posting. I do not want to charge head first at this and not have a clue as to what I am doing.
