I registered a while back and forgot to say hi. Work, busy, short-term memory loss, or just plain forgot - I'm really not sure. However, the latter would more likely rank with higher odds
. Anyway, apologies for the belated introduction, and without further ado Hi, Howdy, Greetings, and G'day from sunny Sydney!
I'm interested in all things Open Source, and especially the history and ongoing journey of this wonderful and extraordinary operating system we all know and love as Linux.
I would classify myself as a beginner to intermediate general user, and have been running Linux as my only operating system, for home, work and all else, since 2007. I would definitely like to see Linux have more exposure, here in Australia, especially in business and education where there seems to be a heavily guarded corporate mentality, from the Government down, portraying the idea that there should only be the two major commercial operating systems in existence here for personal computing. Of course, where the opportunity arises, I do like to present Linux as an option to other Aussies.
Thank you to the founders and organisers of linux.org, for creating such a fantastic facility and I am sure that with my presence here I will learn plenty and hopefully contribute something useful as time goes on.
