I’ve been running Zorin about 7 months with no real problems other than incorrect installation. The os itself, the boot/start up, everything on HDD. I’d prefer the os and boot be on SATA SSD using HDD for my media/doc/apps etc and swap used correctly on sata I believe. So I was preparing to do a fresh install, I moved all my personal stuff to an external Samsung T7 and was looking into backing up the settings and additional software/apps. I’ve been running into permission and ownership issues. So, I apparently messed up when in the disk utility, with the HDD selected, went into it’s settings and used the “take ownership” option not clicking the recurcave option forgive my spelling. Then it hit the fan, lost my wired connection, couldn’t get on Wi-Fi tried new networks and all I knew how. I had multiple authorization requests I ok’d, figured out how to be as system administrator, root access with in the GUI, but still had issues saying ownership was, “me” “root” or “jrd”. So I gave up, did a restart and after seeing the computer manufacturers logo, then the zorin logos it stops at a FAIL message. I tried the esc esc thing and received a long list of some good and some bad(pass/fail) and can’t navigate with in that like scroll up etc or enter any commands. I need to get back into my system!!! Please help. Attached is a pic of fail message. THANK YOU! btw, the zorin community forum was not working properly and in the Ubuntu one I’ve been told to refer to the specific disto help forum.
