HP 64 Bit Pavilion Slimline 4KB. while using LO to create a doc, the cinputer locked up. not sure its LO, can't switch programs (alt-Firefox), linux menu-no, after a bit of using mouse-pointer disappeared. CTRL-Alt F1 do not open a virt desktop. My doc/LO still on screen.

Give us a little more info to go on. Which distro, ram installed etc. You may have to reboot and hope that LO saves the file and it can be recovered. If you get back into the terminal type this command and list the output back here.

inxi -Fxxzr

Depending upon the distro you may have to install inxi.
