RMS is free to have his own opinions.
I don't appreciate his rigidity, but I do appreciate his work to ensure that we have free software; however, open source software has to fit into that construct. And sometimes, software that doesn't fit into either needs to be appreciated. We are free to make our own choices, even we disagree on what is important.
