Wifi and Linux Mint

I have been having an issue connecting to wifi that requiers a user id and password. but can connect to wifi with only password protection. don't know what is going on, or if it's just a wireless card issue.

the first one is my linux information and the second is what my wifi is doing i am also running a RTL8188EE wireless network adapter if that helps.

I had this problem with my edu wifi. I had to create a new connection through a hidden network to get it to connect, even then it took a few tries. After it finally connected it auto connects right away though.
