On Jan 23, I went the ER with tremendous back pain. Turned out to be my Leukemia becoming Acute I now have Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Which untreated will kill you in about 4 weeks
So I've been in the hospital for almost 14 day Receiving Chemo Treatments. My blood work finally looked good enough to let me come. I will continue to outpatient Chemo 2 days a week till the end of the month then will be reevaluated to see if it is in remission if not another round of chemo will follow,
For those interested in know more about AML see here
But it's good to be back with you all.

Hi KC, sounds like they caught it just in time, fingers crossed for you

Brian

But it's good to be back with you all.

I had wondered where you'd gone. I'd happily hoped it was some sort of vacation.

Good luck with your health and give me a yell if you need anything. I can make the drive, if required. You're not THAT far away, after all. I doubt there's much I can do, but I feel compelled to offer.

I will mention that Maine General, in Augusta, has the best hospital food (and great care) that I've ever had.

They have REAL lobster rolls on the menu. When fiddleheads are in season, they have those on the menu! Of course, they have seasonal blueberries as well. I offered to provide them with a ton of berries but they didn't have the capacity to deal with that many and already had a contract with another company.

I offered at no cost and we'd even deliver them. The blueberries are up on Vienna Mountain. It's a short drive from there to Augusta, headed out through Belgrade. Still, I guess they'd rather pay for them. I should keep checking and eventually they might not have a contract in place, but I digress...

I hope all goes well. Chemo can be a bear. It's very much not something our body is designed for.

I'd caution against opioid dependencies but at our age it's all good.

Also, make sure that you're hiring someone to do things like plow and shovel! You shouldn't be doing that sort of stuff on your own at this point. Be careful!

I'm very sorry to hear of your health issues...get well soon.

Praying for full remission.

My best wishes to you, I hope you get a speedy recovery.
