Which virtual machine for LMDE to install Windows?

Hello, I am considering trying running Windows in my LMDE machine, just to see how it works. Specifics of the machine is below. I otherwise have Win11Pro installed on a usb as a standalone OS, but I wonder how it works in the VM if I ever needed to dip in without a reboot.

Any recommendations?

Ok, to catch up with this topic, I went with

. QEMU/KVM​

• Developer: Community (KVM is a Linux kernel module)
• Strengths: Excellent for advanced users looking for powerful customization and near-native performance.
• Features:
  • Performance: Provides near-native speeds with the Kernel-based Virtual Machine (KVM) module.
  • Compatibility: Works well with a variety of Linux distros and is a default tool for many.
  • Virt-Manager GUI: For those who prefer a GUI, Virt-Manager can make QEMU/KVM setup and management easier.
  • Cons: Steeper learning curve, especially if setting up from the command line.

I am still configuring the installed Windoze 11 in it, but I am getting there.
I liked the fact that it is said to be faster than VirtualBox:

• Cons: Can be slower than other VMs in some cases, and may require additional configuration for optimal performance.

I am not afraid of difficulties, the speed was a decisive factor for me. I considered the VMWare, but after acquisition by Broadcom and whatever that means for the future, I decided to use the one above.

Anyone ese using it? What is your experience?

There is a virtual box in the LMDE6 repository [software manager], I recommend you try this one first

@Trynna3 what are you wanting to do with this vm. Are you wanting to run games and graphical intense applications or just basic applications that don't need 3d acceleration but just to run something like office or other applications that don't run well on Linux?

Not sure yet, I want my options open. Instead of finding out some other VM will be a bit slower to my like and doing it again, I went with the big thing . How are Zoom or Teams facetime working on Vbox?

Even apps? I know they work via browser, but that isn't the whole functionality, at least Teams. If Linux has an app for Teams then great, I haven't explored that detail yet. I expected it to be Windows specific. Or Mac at most.

For Zoom there is an official one, for Linux Microsoft abandoned the official TLinux Teams app but there is a community version.

Great.
I also use Canvas Workspace, for designing templates or other creative stuff. They don't look like having a Linux version. I guess it isn't a CPU demanding software, but in any case, for future, I prefer to have the faster speed so I don't need to re-do the whole thing if the need came.
