I downloaded Linuxmint 18.2 onto a memory stick yesterday. My intention is to use it from this when booting up my MacBook Pro.
Can someone advise what the next steps are? e.g. what other applications/files do I need?

Thanks.

Hi @Clutha, and welcome! I'm not a Mac user, so my only source of info is the web. @arochester offered some good links already to help you along... but my understanding was that you only want to boot Linux Mint on the USB and run it from there, rather than install it. Is that correct? If so, these links may help:

Good luck!

Hi @Clutha and another welcome :D

Just to clarify one point from the otherwise good advice you have received above.

You will need to "empty" that USB stick of the .iso you downloaded and perhaps redownload it to your hard drive and work from there.

A Linux .iso must be "burned" to a stick, before the stick can be used to boot from. It cannot just be copied or downloaded to a stick, and still operate.

Cheers
