Hello!
I'm looking for the lightweightest Linux distributions and desktops.
I need it just to install VirtualBox and run a virtual machine, I don't need a beautiful desktop.
Hope for your help!

I found this article on Google.
Tiny Core Linux: RAM: 64 MB (128 MB recommended), CPU: i486DX
Puppy Linux: RAM: 256 MB, CPU: 600 Hz Processor
SparkyLinux: RAM: 512 MB, CPU: Pentium 4, or AMD Athlon
antiX Linux: RAM: 256 MB of RAM, CPU: PIII systems
Bodhi Linux: RAM: 256 MB of RAM, CPU: 1.0 GHz

As for the rest, you can check out the link above.

I second Puppy Linux and Anti-X.
Maybe give Lubuntu a spin too.

For a super lightweight DE you can go with XFCE.

IS this for an older pc?
If, so how much RAM are you talking about?

A lightweight host will almost certainly struggle. VirtualBox general system requirements hint at the trouble you might find. The VirtualBox Manual is a little more clear about what Linux hosts you might find acceptable... and none are lightweight. You will probably be better off dual booting the two operating systems that you want to run.

Or you might look at other hypervisors besides VirtualBox. Maybe something else out there will be more resource friendly.
