Good evening

I have an old AMD 32 bit machine and decided to put Linux on it. The system is connected to the internet via wifi and cable.

The issue is that when I try to start Firefox it just crashes and a crash report box pops up. I started with SUSE 13.2 then tried Mint 19 and finally Ubuntu 16, all 32 bit. I’ve also tried other browsers none will start. I know that the internet is working as all OS’s downloaded updates.

Anyone with an idea what’s going on? I have Goggled this without any luck.

Thank you in advance for your replies.

G'day Tom, and Welcome to Linux.org

Are the browsers 32 bit ?

Firefox.... https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/ .......click on advanced install options and other platforms

Choose Linux 32bit at the bottom of the list

Let us know the outcome

I’ve also tried other browsers none will start.

G'day Tom, another Aussie here :)

Just to add to Brian's above, which other browsers?

Cheers

does w3m work?
installation:
Code:
sudo apt install w3m
running
Code:
w3m Google.com

w3m is a terminal based web browser.
Tell us if it's crashing too. :)

Good afternoon

Thank you for your input, greatly appreciated. w3m worked and I tried to install 32 bit Firefox but now I'm getting internal errors. I think that I will leave it for now and build a more up to date PC tower.

Kind regards
