Virtualize physical linux server on Hyper-V

Hello
i have an old mail server that runs on linux ubuntu server and i need to virtualize it in a new server with Hyper-V.
i try many way with clonezilla but when i try to start the virtual machine it never starts. why?
i also try to install on Hyper-v a new installation of linux server and it works fine.
pls can you help me to understand what's wrong.
