Version 14.04 - pop up notes not working

I've noticed that pop up notes is not working in version 14.04. I don't use knotes that often but I do know it was working in order versions of 13.xx

Not sure what happened during the update to 14.04.

When I click on new note, nothing appears.

If you right click on the knotes icon and select "Show All Notes" do all the ones you've created appear?

Nothing appears because it won't allow me to create any. Show all the notes is grayed out.
