Using parted on CentOS 7.

VirtualBox: Version 7.0 r156879 (Qt5.15.2).
Guest operating system: CentOS 7.
Host operating system: Microsoft Windows 10 Home edition: Version 10.0.19045, Build 19045.

I have recently increased the size of the virtual disk image ( i.e., v.d.i. ) file for my VirtualBox CentOS 7 virtual machine. After doing that, I attempt to resize partition # 2 in my CentOS 7 virtual machine, but I receive an error message when trying. How do I solve this problem? Please see the portable network graphic ( i.e., P.N.G. ) files for more information. Thank you.

My guess is you resized virtual disk but guest system is aware only of the old partition table.
