I have tried to run a linux on windows 11 through the use of Hyper-v [updated] and then VMware Workstation Pro but none works! For ubuntu 22.04 LST, after booting with "Try or Install Ubuntu", installation neither appears on the screen on the first opening nor is opened by clicking on its icon on desktop. Even Terminal does not open, and after a short appearing on the top corner it disappears.

For mint22(cinnamon), it said "failed to start lightdm.service" during booting.

I am not expert in Linux, just I need it for running some applications. I'll be appreciated if you can help me with this. Thx

Notes: the state "safe graphics" for Ubuntu and "compatibility" for mint have checked. CPU numbers and RAM amounts also changed. None was effective! I've seen different Youtube samples before running.

Welcome to Linux.org-:)

I'm not well versed in using Hyper-V or VMWare on the Cloud, sorry.
You might have to disable secure boot in Hyper-V.
Our members @f33dm3bits or @osprey may be able to assist you.

This fix works for Linux however; I'm not certain if it will fix it in a virtual machine.

-----------There is an alternative to try Ubuntu or other Linux distro's.-----------

If you already have the .iso image of Ubuntu you can use Balena Etcher to place it on a USB and run it Live on your pc.

Once Etcher finishes and the USB is ready to go just plug in the USB pendrive and shut down your pc.

Then, press the power button on your Windows pc. While it's in the process of booting up, press the key to enter into the BIOS and select the USB and make it to be the first choice in the boot section.

Most desktop's it's the 'DEL' key to enter the BIOS.
With entering the BIOS on laptop's it's often the 'F2" key but to be sure check your motherboard manual.

OR> look up the exact make and model of your pc to find out how to enter the BIOS.

thx for reply
I did "disable secure boot".
for repairing with "Ctrl + Alt + F3":
in Mint22, I have no username to use and accounts like "root" do not work! so i cannot go any further. Since I am on the first boot and haven't made any account!
In Ubuntu, I face "squashfs error: failed to read block 0x2b99873 : -5"

for Mint22, I also got a message initial to "failed to start lightdm.service":

Is it possible that my both .ISO would be corrupted??

Yes, it's possible.

Did you check the integrity of the .iso files before the installation?
