Good morning dear community.

I need your help and advice. I have an old computer with Lubuntu 18.04.5 LTS. I would like to use/instal an USB Wi-Fi adapter, but I do not know which one and how to do it. I have a basic understanding of Windows OS and my knowledge of Linux OS is zero. I am 64 and would like to learn it during retirement. I would appreciate very much your guidance.

Best regards,

George

I have used this...

It seems to work with at least 20 different distros. I have used it with fedora, redhat, rocky, debian, kali, ubuntu,
opensuse, mint, and few others.

I've also had good luck with...

I haven't tried as many distro's with that one, but it does work with ubuntu and fedora.

I would also recommend reading this before you buy an adapter.

Welcome youngster

the easiest way is to use a Linux compatible USB dongle, as you say its an ild machine, no point in going too fancy a N150 will do for most home computing, [unless your into gaming] the one i used on my old dell [and still use when working on other peoples machine is one like this

your Labuntu is out of date, depending on the age and spec of your machine I would recommend updating to the latest version, or installing something like Mint LMDE, MX, Linux Parrot home,Linuxlite [to mention a few.]

Lubuntu is 18.04 is EOL and no longer supported.

Unless your computer is 32 bit, you can upgrade (yes, it will run) to a newer (and supported) release.

If it is 32 bit, it's time to pick a new distro. There are some distros that still happily support 32 bit.

When you put an unsupported device on the internet, you're potentially compromising other people and systems.
