I am trying to boot from a USB media but nothing comes up. I am using a HP and I am trying to install a Windows 7 installation ISO onto my SanDisk USB. When i boot from it (By the way I do have Legacy Support enabled) It comes up with a command line i cannot type in. Any help appreciated!

1.) Yes, I am installing Windows over Linux.
2.) I am using Linux Mint Cinnamon. I am fairly new to this.
3.) The command line says nothing.

Have you tried restoring UEFI and Secure Boot?

Sorry that took a while,

I have also posted this on the Windows forum,
and it is my USB that is the issue

I tried it with another pc (an Acer one)
And it came with the same results

How are you putting it on the USB? Are you using an app?

I have downloaded the Microsoft USB creator and then put an ISO on the USB.

The usb was exFAT, so now i have changed it to FAT32,
but now it says 'No bootable USB found'

I went to WoeUSB but i got an 'uninstallable dependency error':

Also with the .deb file:

Try to launch the Synaptic Package Manager, on the left panel you would see an option for Status, left click it and go onto Broken Dependencies. Once there click on the red blocks located to the left of each of the names of the packages. Once that has been done, there should be an option somewhere to remove them. Once completed mark each of them, in your case it should only be the libwxgtk3 dependency, for complete removal then press Apply located in the top panel. That should fix your problem, however if it does not, try running this command in the terminal:
Code:
sudo dkpg --configure -a

I have gone and done it,

Im sorry Jared, um
I have the Windows 10 Installation screen.

I just booted it up and it worked. I just saw this posted 17 minutes ago.

But I do now have a new problem...

I cannot format my Hard Drive to 'NTFS'.
It says that needs to be my hard drive type.

I tried to click format but I couldn't.

Again, sorry you have to write that reply for me to say I have booted from it.

If I am not mistaken, Windows is not able to detect Linux specific file systems such as ext4. In order to remove them, you would have to boot into a live environment on Linux (the first thing you are shown in the majority of distributions before installation) and erase or partition your harddrive. You can do it on the terminal. But for a person with barely any experience on Linux, you can try using Disk application on Linux Mint, if you still have that bootable usb flashdrive.

GParted will format it

GParted is also included in most Linux Software Managers
