Urban Legends True or Not True

Urban legends—those unsubstantiated stories of terror that allow us to use our imaginations to fill in increasingly horrifying details with each retelling—have been with us forever. While the internet has made dissemination of them easier, humans have been goading one another with spooky anecdotes for centuries. Psychologists believe we respond to these tales because we have a morbid fascination with the disgusting; we also can’t help but enjoy gossip. Put those two things together and it makes for an irresistible mix.
Urban legends often come with a dose of skepticism. (No, a killer with a hook hand has never terrorized necking couples.) But sometimes, these stories turn out to be true. Have a look—preferably under the covers and with a flashlight—at these 11 terrifying tales that actually happened.

1. RATS IN THE TOILET BOWL

You stagger into the bathroom at 3 a.m. to relieve yourself. Groggy with sleep, you lift the lid and position yourself over the toilet. You hear splashing. Turning on the light, you see a rat looking back at you from the bowl. You’re never the same again. So true or not true?????

i used to be involved in entomology and pest control. The major source of rats eg London is the sewer system. The sewers used to be routinely baited by each Council area then from memory there was a shift of responsibility between the water board and the council.
IN manhloes there is something called a "roding" eye cap thats a cap that is removed when blockages need shifting. When as often as they are these caps are not put back or wear and tear it means rats can travel from main sewer into the effluent system of domestic houses. Its only a small step and only a small amount of water in the "u" tube that stops them. Typically in old houses not maintained maybe due to an old person living there there is nothing to stop rats because the water dries up. Sometimes rats just "brave it" but yes this one is not that common but entirely plausible. i've seen myself rat foot prints in the bowl of a part dried up toilet .

Not anywhere I live or have lived.

First mistake not turning the light on as you enter.

I always check before I sit down. I've been scarred as an 80's kid with too many horror movies involving toilette's and unsuspecting butts.
