I was trying to install a newer version of Linux Mint from a USB Stick. Linux Mint 19.2 to Linux Mint 20.2. I was unable to upgrade using the update manager, so burned an ISO to a USB Stick. No matter what I do, I am unable to access the bios screen. I believe I have UEFI on this PC. I don't know how that affects the bios though. Pardon me, but I am 73, and I get a bit frustrated when I can't get something to work. I tried every possible key, from escape to the F keys and the shift key, nothing worked. I booted directly into Mint 9.2
I tried disconnecting the computer ( HP Pavilion 23 all in one ) and holding down the power switch while booting. That did bring me twice to a grey screen showing Linux Mint 9.2 and a few options. I was unable to enter anything however. There was a timer bar, saying I had 24 seconds to enter a choice. I have no idea what I had 24 seconds to do. I tried using the keyboard, but I could enter nothing, nor navigate using the navigation arrows. I did once get a MOK screen, in that I had the same problem there. There was no way to navigate or to hit the OK that appeared in brackets. I was unable to do anything, and had to power off the computer.
Does anyone have a solution for this problem, it is driving me nuts!
