So I will be honest, I know little to nothing about Linux, but I've offered to try and assist the admins with getting their server back up and running if I can.

The server is hosting an art website. They only have linux commend line running no desktop... but the files are in /tmp. Anytime they try and do anything with it, it gives them an error saying the /tmp is full, out of space, etc. They can't even get the cleanup command to launch.

They need to be able to access these files to get the site back up and running. Otherwise, they will have to completely wipe the server data.

Could anyone give me a little insight on how to fix this?

Can you give output of ...

df -h
