Is there any possible way that the command sudo ufw status numbered would output enabled?
I keep getting the word enabled as output and this can't be right.

Security issue with ufw - posted in Linux & Unix: I am new to Linux and using Ubuntu desktop 24.04 When I enter sudo ufw status numbered I get back enabled and thats it. This must be wrong. Is this possible?

This shows the firewall is active or enabled...simple.

If you check the help(ufw --help), you will see this listed in there.

status numbered                 show firewall status as numbered list of RULES

So all you have to do is run the following command.

sudo ufw status numbered

That would give output something like this.

tux@ubuntu:~$ sudo ufw status numbered
Status: active

     To                         Action      From
     --                         ------      ----
[ 1] 80/tcp                     ALLOW IN    Anywhere
[ 2] 80/tcp (v6)                ALLOW IN    Anywhere (v6)
