Hi,
I am not brilliant at Linux, so any help gratefully received.
I am trying to set up a Ubuntu Server to work as a proxy Server with Veeam, but I have come to an issue and I don't have enough knowledge on how to get passed it.
My Ubuntu Server is set up and I can connect onto it and do what I need using my admin user, but I am trying to add it in Veeam and it asks for the password details, I have added my local admin details but when I try to add it as a proxy server in to Veeam I get the following message:
"Selected Server was added using an account with insufficient privileges to assign the backup proxy role"
I do think I know what is causing this, but I don't know how to get passed it. The user details box in Veeam for Linux has these options:
Username: LocalAdmin
Password: as it is
SSH Port: 22
Then I have the following options which I don't know how to populate
Non-root account
Tick box: Elevate account privileges automatically
Tick box: Add account to the sudoers file
Tick box: Use "su" if "sudo" fails
There is then an option to enter the root password which comes live when I tick the first box.
As I say I have limited knowledge of Linux, but reading up on this, the root account on the Ubuntu Server is disabled, so what settings do I use here? I tried using my localadmin password, but that didn't work.
Thanks for any help given.
