Trying to download the latest Ubuntu version. It downloads about 70% and stops. Any advice?

where are you downloading from ?....link please.

Does your internet connection usually have this problem ?

Is there some sort of limit on your download capacity......the ubuntu download is approx 1.6gb

Ubuntu.com/download I usually don’t have problems. No download limit. Have plenty of memory and disc space.

There is no choice. Thanks for your help.

The torrent download will be much quicker. Hope it finishes for you !

James, if you prefer not to use BitTorrent, but just a direct download, try it from this page

http://releases.ubuntu.com/

Be aware that the letters LTS stand for long term support, the 6-monthly releases in between have a shelf life of 9 months. So 18.10 'Cosmic Cuttlefish' is supported until only July 2019, which may suit your needs for evaluation.

18.04 'Bionic Beaver' is LTS and has five (5) years support - the first 2.5 years is for hardware support and it has 5 years software support.

Cheers
