I recently installed Ubuntu on my Lenovo Legion laptop with the following specs:
CPU: Intel Core i7-14650HX (16 cores, 24 threads, 2.2–5.2 GHz) GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 (8GB GDDR6) When I power on the laptop, I see the Lenovo Legion logo followed by the Ubuntu logo, but the screen freezes for 1–2 minutes before reaching the welcome/login page. This delay is consistent every time I boot.
Things I've tried so far:
Updated all packages using sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade. Installed the latest NVIDIA drivers (nvidia-driver-560). Disabled Secure Boot in the BIOS. Is this behavior normal on high-performance laptops like mine, or could it be related to the hybrid graphics (Intel + NVIDIA)? How can I optimize the boot time and get rid of this delay?
Any advice or debugging tips would be appreciated!

first thing to try would be disabling the second GPU and see how it runs with the onboard intel GPU, if it boots at a reasonable speed then it is probeable its a problem with the Hy-brid graphics.

Thank you for the suggestion! I disabled the NVIDIA GPU and set the system to use only the Intel GPU. With this configuration, the boot time improved significantly, and the delay is gone. However, when I switch to "On-Demand" mode for hybrid graphics, the delay persists.

For reference, I’ve attached an image of my current drivers. I’ve installed the proprietary NVIDIA 560 driver. Any advice on optimizing the "On-Demand" mode for smoother boot times, or should I consider a different configuration?

I analyzed the boot process using systemd-analyze. Here's the result:
systemd-analyze
Startup finished in 7.232s (firmware) + 1.834s (loader) + 2.258s (kernel) + 1min 36.873s (userspace) = 1min 48.198s
graphical.target reached after 1min 36.840s in userspace.

Hybrid graphics Not my thing, at least you have confirmed where the problem lays, if you sit back a bit and just use the intel for now, then later you may get some of our gamers passing through who have had this type of problem. [we are scattered across all corners of the world and all time zones]
