When using Synaptic (or any other package manager), users can enabled backports and "proposed". Most of the time when I enable one or the other, my system is messed-up (boot-up fails or various other bugs). This can be expected of "proposed" packages, but does anyone else have this problem with the backports? I had some Linux users tell me the backports are stable, but my experiences tell me otherwise. Can I hear your thoughts on this? Does anyone have any good experiences with the backports or "proposed"?
