Hey xyx,
Either you downloaded wrong package check whether it is compatible with your processor,
Redownload the package and check,
else check is there loose connectivity between installation media and your PC.

Where did yiou download the .iso from ?

have you disabled secure boot and fast boot in bios ?

Have you checked the integrity of the downloaded file?

i downloaded it from official ubuntu website

@Xyz
Because you're not the only one having this issue with ubuntu ISO I would start thinking about some other distro.

Another one...

Welcome to the forums
if you have disabled secure boot [i know ubuntu say you dont have to I always do] and quick-start, you need to do a power re-start [ re-boot] NOT using the windows shut down panel, but by the command line by running shutdown /r
if this dosent work then i would suggest as others are having similar problems try a distribution not based on ubuntu.

Also consider downloading the .iso file via the torrent link at Ubuntu. This ensures the iso file is not corrupted etc

ok i'll try again
Try Downloading from Mirrors if torrent is slow
and also check for things like secure boot,
and also disable fast boot in windows,

The log shows the problem is while mounting drive
so it should be Fast boot, Secure boot and maybe chance for partition (MBR/GPT)

Try what other people have been suggesting, if that doesn't work, try another USB drive. Another person had this issue on the forums not too long ago, it is possible that the latest version of Ubuntu isn't talking to your hardware correctly. I would recommend trying out another distro if all else fails. If you want something similar to Ubuntu in terms of looks and performance then Fedora might be a good option. Just look for different distros until you find one that you want. Just make sure it isn't a respin of Ubuntu (Kubuntu, Edubuntu, Lubuntu, etc.) or else it may have the same issue.

Maybe try installation w/o connecting to the internet. Worked for one man in the link in the bug post on Launch Pad.

MX Linux is light weight and based on Debian. Runs great on my 11 year old Sony laptop!

Give Linux Mint a spin in a virtual machine or Live USB.
