does your Mic show up in alsamixer?

you will need to maximize the window to see everything

also is you Drelan Mic tetrahedral?

It DOES appear in alsamixer, but not by default, instead via the Select Sound Card option (F6), or the /proc/asound/cards in System Information (F2) and no it is not tetrahedral it's mono input exclusive.

I took screenshots of my searching pattern throughout alsamixer, to hopefully avoid confusion

The only other thing I can think of is - are you a member of Audio Group

sudo usermod -a -G audio USERNAME

or

sudo adduser USERNAME audio
