I thought it was installed. I can see it and the queue and I can see it in LibreOffice. But, when I try printing to it, the queue says it's not connected.
Properties shows Local Raw Printer. That didn't seem right. But, when I try to change that, it looks for a driver. I find the xp-4100, but I get a CUPS SERVER ERROR - server-error-internal-error after trying to use a new PPD and trying to copy from an old PPD. The Epson site doesn't seem to have any PPD info. Please help. Thanks.

Moving this to Linux Hardware, @Billtour , may get some good advice there.

Installing a printer/scanner in Linux can be a nightmare because printers are designed to run in Windoze.

I have an Epson XP-245, I installed it the normal way and tried to print something and got a blank page.
So you have to go the the Epson web site and download the drivers for both Printer/Scanner.
Here are two links should one not work.

Printer Driver is easy to install, the Scanner Driver is not, I got around this by installing Printer/Scanner in my Win 7 VM as well, but that's me. ;)

From personal experience, they're not necessarily a nightmare to install, but can definitely be a nightmare to actually work sometimes. I personally would run Windows in a VM because the drivers can be finicky in Linux.

While we're on the topics of printers, https://hooktube.com/watch?v=bV0M9_NwMHY (Your thoughts exactly)

I've found both Printer/Scanner work much better in my Win 7 VM, especially the Scanner. :D

OP,
This is what the driver looks like when installed but don't believe what it says. ;)
