It was in my notes. It gets an article! This is actually the second time .rar files have been the subject of an article, though I really don't expect folks to need this information all that often.


It's technically with rar, the opensource version of WinRAR but the last article about it confused some people. So, we'll see if this is easier. The commands are nice and easy, so there's that.
 


Back in the old days I used WinRAR a lot but since moving to Linux I have no such need.

Yeah, it's not something most folks will need to know outside of some pretty specific circumstances - or because they like the .rar compression algorithms and results.
