These women have made significant contributions to the development and advancement of Linux.

Be afraid, be very afraid

The missus is a proficient Linux user. She uses Lubuntu on her laptop and manages it by herself.

She's many years my junior and still had no issues adapting to Lubuntu, even without any prior geeky traits. So, it's not an issue of prior experience. She'd never used a terminal/command line prompt for anything before.

She doesn't ask for my help and doesn't appear to have broken anything. I don't actually watch what she's doing on the computer so it's possible that it doesn't work and she just sits there pretending - but that's unlikely.

If she needs anything, she just asks Google.

To be fair, her needs are not many or complicated. She uses a browser and an email client. The only thing advanced that she does is music production and the application she uses can be used on Windows or a Mac.

Did you know that women have played a significant role in the development of Linux?

It looks like some of them did some development work at some level. But others, it
seems their main contribution was being a writer or activist or founding an organization.
I'm not sure how much those things contribute to Linux.
