Although Fedora is a Gnome-by-default distribution (shipping Gnome 41, for what is worth), they publish what they call spins, which are ISO images tailored for other desktop environments and even raw window managers, like i3. Check here; there's a surprising number of spins: https://spins.fedoraproject.orgI have a Fedora VM with LXDE! It'd definitely suit being installed on bare metal.
I have one bare metal workstation install of RHEL and that's a treat after installing Xfce. (I am decidedly not a fan of Gnome.)
In fact I am changing the distro from linux mint to any other so want to see others choices also that's why asked nothing else
